Coffee Pot Parts

Getting To Know Coffee Pot Parts

A kitchen counter is not complete without a coffee pot or a coffee maker. The day might not start right without a little kick from the coffee’s aroma and soothing blend. Frequent coffee drinkers know that a coffee maker must deliver the exact result for it to be referred to other friends. However, a good coffee pot is only as good as its coffee when all its parts are working harmoniously for the end result. When one fails, for sure there will be a chain reaction that will lead to nothing more than total failure.

One of the most important coffee pot parts is the water filter. The filter ensures that no harmful elements reach the coffee and the drinker while at the same time the taste will be focused to the coffee not to the unwanted particles that has slipped through unnoticed. There are filters that are reusable and easy to wash and the other would be disposable. Environmentally conscious drinkers would rather chose the first filter than the second one because aside from the environmental impact, it also enables the owner to save money in the long run and the time it takes to go to the store and buy the filter once it runs out.

The carafe or the decanter is also a replaceable part. There are many reasons why the carafe needs to be replaced but the most common household reason is breaking it into hundreds of pieces. Fortunately, all major companies make replacement carafes which are usually made of glass or you can shop on Amazon or eBay for replacement coffee pot parts.

Sometimes a glass carafe can be replaced by a thermal carafe; however this is not common due to its more complex mechanism. A thermal carafe has proven more durable than glass but the lid mechanism can still be damaged which is by far the toughest part to operate.

Recently, you may have noticed that many home coffee makers have gold tone filters that can be used over and over for coffee brewing. This is so because paper filters tend to absorb the essential oil from the coffee that should greatly affect the coffee’s body. This is the reason why some people who are after a full flavored taste is using French press because it does not need filtering.

Like any utensils inside the house, coffee makers need proper and regular cleaning. This is the oldest and the easiest way to keep any utensil working instead of buying a replacement every time something goes wrong just because the proper care of the utensil is not your immediate concern. Basically, for a part of a coffee pot that can be removed, there is always a big chance that there is a replacement. For the rest, it should be wise to get the assistance of repair guy or get a new one, where in most cases the later choice is wiser. And always keep it out of reach of children.
