A lot of drinks today have been very popular like wine, sodas and many others. However, among these known drinks today, coffee is still the best in all of them. A lot of people around the world really enjoy the taste of coffee to bring life to their morning and calm their evening.

Coffee is known to be the most consumed beverage in the world. Actually, people will prefer drinking coffee instead of drinking wine or sodas. Coffee is very popular not only because of its great taste and the benefits that it offers. It is very popular because it can really adapt to the current standing of the economy today. People are well aware that other drinks are too expensive. This is the reason why most of them drink coffee. It is very affordable and delicious at the same time. You can actually afford a cup of coffee rather than a bottle of wine or a can of soda. (Except if you shop at Starbucks all the time)

Like any other drinks, coffee also has what you call "coffee etiquette". Basically, it is the guidelines on how certain types of coffee must be served. They commonly call it as gourmet coffee service. It is the process of serving a specific type of coffee depending on the occasion. You do not simply make a kind of gourmet coffee and serve it in any occasion. There are specific guidelines that you must follow if you want to serve coffee appropriately. Take a look at the gourmet coffee service given below.

The first kind is the informal coffee service. This kind of service is typically used for luncheon meeting, dinners or even informal family or social reunions. In this kind of service, the coffee is usually prepared ahead of time and it is usually made in bulk. The coffee will be made available for everyone in a separate area or in particular serving table or room. The cups, sugar and creamer will also be available on hand buffet style. It means that people can make their own coffee depending on their preference. It is like a self service style of service but all of the needed ingredients are already served. It is up to them if they will add more sugar or creamer to their coffee.

The hostess can also prepare the coffee and place them in cups while the guests take charge of putting the sugar and cream to suit their individual tastes. This kind of service is only applicable to occasions mentioned above.

The second type of is the formal coffee service. This kind of service is used in formal occasions. In this kind of service, servers take charge and they are usually assigned in tables. They will then ask the guests on their individual coffee preference. The guests will have to say the kind of coffee that they want. Coffee will then be prepared for the guests depending on their preference. They can specify the amount of cream or sugar that will be placed on their coffee or they can request to provide them with cream and sugar and do it by themselves. This kind of service provides a nice personal touch to the guests and makes them feel special.

There is also a specific size intended for any occasion or time of the day. Coffee is usually served in three coffee cup sizes and the type of coffee served or when it is served during the day dictates the kind of coffee cup to be used. Very small cups or demitasse are used in serving espresso or strong coffee after formal dinners. Medium sized coffee cups are used for informal meals. Large cups or mugs are used for breakfast or more informal gatherings.

You could also seek out a home delivery gourmet coffee service such as a coffee of the month club like Gevalia where you get your favorite coffees delivered to your door each month for a set price. There are so many options for enjoying the world's favorite beverage.
